BA, CPA, CGA.
Tope Roth obtained her Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation in 2010 in addition to her Bachelor of Business Administration and Criminal Justice Degrees from the University of Winnipeg where she graduated in 2005. After graduation from University Mrs. Roth went to work as a Junior Accountant at Haworth & Company a Public Practice CGA firm with a predominately not for profit client base. In 2008 Mrs. Roth moved to Edmonton Alberta where she began working at the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as an income and GST Auditor. Becoming an auditor with CRA had been a goal Mrs. Roth set. Work experience with the CRA would provide her hands on experience with the Canadian Tax system, a skill she felt would be extremely beneficial when she eventually returned to public practice. After five years of learning and working with the CRA, Tope decided to leave in pursuit of other opportunities. Upon leaving CRA she took a position with KPMG LLP as an Indirect Tax Specialist in which she provided tax advisory services to Universities across Canada and health care facilities throughout Alberta. Subsequently she worked for the Provincial Government as an auditor with the First Nation Development Fund. She found working with the Nations a very insightful position and identified many areas in which she could eventually assist the Nations. In 2014 she and Meagan Schroder decided to take the necessary steps to open a public practice.
At Roth Schroder PC we are dedicated to the specific needs of each of our clients.
Meagan Schroder received her designation as a Certified General Accountant in 2010 after completing her Bachelor of Applied Business Administration Degree in 2008. She began her career as an Income Tax and GST Auditor for Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Her time with CRA gave her unique knowledge and skills that she now utilizes in the firm. After five years in Government Meagan decided to move on to industry accounting and became an Accountant/Controller for a medium sized oilfield company. This role served many purposes and allowed her to gain useful practices she still uses to this day. The role as a controller presented many challenging tasks; however this was all very fulfilling as she works best in these circumstances. Although Meagan loved working in the oil and gas industry, she always had a desire to open her own practice and, so, she partnered with Tope Roth and Roth Schroder Professional Corporation was born. As an aboriginal, and member of Bigstone Cree Nation, it is Meagan's desire to work in and with the aboriginal communities and bands throughout Alberta. Herself and the firm are open to any opportunities that will help her to fulfill this endeavour, including outreach work and building relationships within the aboriginal communities.
